the cotton fell in the wind and burned the young man's heart. to melt the true feelings into notes, to pour out the blessings of the distant, to pray for tomorrow. "tomorrow is another day." this is the heroine of "gone with the wind", hao sijia, a magic weapon in the face of difficulties. this is also the deepest sentence i have read through the book: indeed, tomorrow will always be a new starting point for life!

as a member of a complex society, the human character is definitely not singular. there are no absolute good people, no total bad people. a man can only be a polyhedron, and a person's character can only be the sum of many personality traits. scarlett inherited her father's rugged, bad-tempered nature, but she was taught by her mother's good parenting and moral values. therefore, her character is a contradictory unity. because of this, she dared to love and hate, and determined her goals to go forward and to the character of any means. she never flinch, because "tomorrow is another day." yes, tomorrow is another day. it's a good excuse, and a good reason. she decided that, so she could go all the way to her goal.

scarlett's great life was confused by love, because she had done a lot of wrong. she loved not ashley, but a perfect image of her own inner self. the more ashley refused her, the more perfect the image in her heart. alas, this should prove a chinese saying: not get the best. it was only then that she discovered that ashley, whom she had always loved, did not love her. because of her false infatuation, she missed the real happiness around her.

the good news is: in her completely lost our daughter, ashley, rhett has left her, she knew her love in the world nothing is too late, so she put aside psychic trauma and remorse, and believe that you must be the heart of rhett. in any case, this is a positive energy that shows up in the face of adversity, which is the key to a person's ability to achieve great power in the pursuit of their goals. if more people can have this optimistic and confident attitude towards love, then more love tragedies will not happen. after all, tomorrow is another day.

yes, today is going to pass, no matter what result, everything belongs to the past. and tomorrow will be another day! only by treating each tomorrow as a new starting point, it is wise to strive for the attainment of your goals. for a college entrance exam preparation, such philosophical words have the power!

i first read it in a summer. i did not finish it at a single sitting. however, the moment i finished it, near midnight in a sweltering august day, with my body poured with sweat, held my breath to turn the last page over, shut the book and heaved a sigh of relief, i just could not express how i felt. all were over: trouble was over; lives were over; hopes were over. i was shocked how such a small book could contain such a complicated story. never were wars, diseases and starvation ever nakedly exposed to me like this. the turns in plots were surprising but natural.

it was a tragedy: just as its name suggested, everything was gone with the wind, including families’ touch, friends’ support, sweethearts’ gaze and youth with vigour. the story reminds us of valuing all we were possessing. a life lasts for a short time and anything in it lasts shorter. we always lose something unconsciously and then feel regretful when we need them later.

characters in the story were so vivid as if they had been going to jump out of the story, as if they had been existed in the real life at first.

“land is the only thing in the world that amounts to anything, for ‘this the only thing in this world that lasts, and don’t you be forgetting it’ this the only thing worth working for, worth fighting for--worth dying for.” said gerald, an irish man who loved his soil more than his own life, let us know that life can be born out of land.

“but scarlett, did it ever occur to you that even the most deathless love could wear out? mine wore out, against ashley wilkes and your insane obstinacy that makes you hold on like a bulldog to anything you think about.”

“scarlett, i was never one to patient pick up broken fragment glue them together and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. what is broken is broken--and i’d rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken places as long as i lived.” said rett butler, a man who love scalett as much as a man can love a woman. loving her for years before he finally got her, he loved her crazily but did not let her know it for fear of being hurt. but at last he still could not escape from hurts. “my dear, i don’t give a damn.” look, he did not care about it at all. he was a man who disguised himself so much.

“i mustn’t bawl; i mustn’t beg. i mustn’t do anything risk his contempt. he must respect me even--even if he doesn’t love me.”

“i’ll think of it all tomorrow, at tara. i can stand it then. tomorrow, i’ll think some way to get him back. after all, tomorrow is another day.”

said scalett o’hara, the most wonderful woman i’ve ever seen. she was hard and greedy and unscrupulous, a brave, frightened, bull-headed child. though she only thought about how to attract man’s attention and did not do anything useful before the war, she did surprise me when i read about her doings after the war. at that time, her tara was just reduced to ashes. everyone sketched out their hands and asked her for food. she bravely faced the reality and rebuilt tara with her own hands. what a tough woman, i thought. though those she loved were all gone, she was still full of hope. when rett didn’t love her anymore and wanted to leave her, she said “i mustn’t bawl… even if he doesn’t love me.” a woman’s dignity could be seen from what she have said and done. that’s why i appreciate her.

this novel gave me too much to think about and i can not fully express myself in english. it is true that reading an origin is more vivid than the translated ones. however, my english level limits me to understand the origin well without the translated. but i will work hard in order to understand better.

in this summer holidays, i read a book called< great="" expectations="">, it was written by charles dickens, one of the most famous english writers. he wrote lots of wonderful novels. this book is one of his compositions.

people always like to compare with their friends. it is a big foible of all the people. if other people have a lot of money, we also want to be rich. if all the people around us are poor , we never mind that we are very poor, too. we will not ashamed because of our folly. this is a social problem.

if we never possess anything, we will not mind we lost some thing. since we don’t want to be very rich ,we will not feel despond because poor.

the protagonist of this novel is pip (handel)。 his parents died when he was a baby. his sister had brought him up ‘by hand’。 his sister married to joe gargery, the village blacksmith. they didn’t have much money, and pip never went to school to study. but he was often very happy .because all of his friends are like him. it isn’t very unfortunate to them, this is their lives. but by a chance, pip helped a convict; he gave much food to him. then he met miss havisham, a very strange old woman and she was very rich.

four years later, miss havisham wants pip to be removed from his home and educated as a gentleman who expects inherit a fortune when he grow up.

after hearing that . pip started to despise his poor friends. he even feel ashamed because he live with the poor man . pip’s ‘great expectations’ destroyed his life.

this novel told us that we cannot compare with others .don’t feel envy at the others money. and if one day you be very rich , please don’t despise your poor friends.

this is the perfect book to share with younge children. it may be intended to be read by children but i am in eighth grade and still love it. if you are looking for a funny, entergetic, and family friendly story then you have found one in alice in wonderland. i give this classic tail five stars and two thumbs way up.

alice in wonderland is about a girl that falls in a hole and goes into this magical world. i think "alice in wonderland" is an ok book for my age if you like fantasy books. you may not like it because nothing makes sense. for example, they have a trial where the witnesses dont know about the crime and the judge says to the jurors, "thats important!" but the rabbit corrects him. i think it would have been a better book if i was 7 and my mom was reading it to me right before bed. the only problem with that is that younger kids might not understand much of the vocabulary but they might still enjoy it if you explain the words to them. if youre an adult and want a good book for your 5, 6 or 7 year old, i recommend alice in wonderland .

"le petit prince" is about to tell a story of alien children to live in a very small planet, that planet there is only one him, he has to take care of the planet, he is the planet the le petit prince, grown up, he went to other planets travel, has encountered all sorts of people (aliens)。 finally he came to the author encountered on earth, and then died here

look at this book, adults should not ripe to look at the mentality, to the point of view of your heart to understand it. the le petit prince has a pure heart and a rich imagination.

when the le petit prince left his planet, on the road, when a king, and that king would just like to control all rational, this is not like us? especially when the teacher, like to go to other people, because order that other people can find themselves high up above and become a king, others only obeys.

the second encounter is love are people who love to be admired him, praise him anything except hear, in fact, we ourselves do they not? others as long as one to praise himself, we do not carried away on it? through this we can easily become conceited person, but also easy for the offensive.

there drunkard, but also a businessman, even to light lamps and geographer, i think those people is equivalent to our portrayal of the real world, love the order, and love to be admired, i would like to re-occupy the possession, finally left with nothing ……

i think the le petit prince this book is a family book, in this book, i can feel that for whom fame for modern day busy round, but not know they have a deep impact on the younger generation, small prince did not understand why adults want to do that? like all children have the same do not know. so i felt, how many more to understand the needs of children, and is no longer a random perfunctory, more children to learn about the ideas, interests, rather than restraint.

i am prince from an early age i learned one thing, the really important things, the eyes are invisible. really important things is to look at motives.

dickens is not a writer disdaining women. instead he loves, respects and takes care of them, however, in his novels, he unconsciously degrades women and puts them inferior to men. this time i want to adopt great expectations to evidence my thesis.

two reasons account for this. the victorian age pushed women back to home and indulge in their obedience and docility. an able woman today may be sung highly as a model of independence but male dominated that period even a little bit of rebellion from female world is regarded as the despising of sacred belief. the other one lies in that dickens, as a well-known and truly successful writer, composes various and popular works. as a male, his achievement sounds great, which belittles the rest of his contemporaries, let alone the women. his success made him believe in men’s great ability.

there are three aspects in this novel that i believe this kind of thought of dickens is revealed.

the first one is that women are fragile. “ weaker, your name is woman.” two hundreds ago, shakespeare authored to the world this unprecedented sentence in hamlet. later, dickens followed this great instruction unconsciously in creating his own works. that is not because that women are in lack of will but that they need surviving abilities and that of self-survival and struggle against destiny. they always turn to men. that can be called “hero saving the beauty”。 this notion originated in the greek tales but is still adopted successively. the only difference between them lies in the plot and structure. estella is adopted and trained to break men’s hearts by miss havisham. havisham revenges men and marries estella to an unworthy guy though pip deeply loves estella. nothing can be bitterer than see his lover married to another guy for a man. pip really fell into the despair of losing estella. however, estella suffers a lot and begins to regret for her initial choice for her spouse and begins to treasure

then comes my second point. facing destiny women are physically and intellectually inferior to men. actually it does not mean they have an inferior intelligence but that it seems so. or we can say that both men and women have the same potential of intelligence, but women never show a lot. god create everyone equally but not everyone is granted the same approaches to success or achievements. they are restricted to families, which restrict them from showing a lot. they can cook food well, which is one standard for their excellence but not the one for male’s world. the novel goes this way since it implies the male consciousness. the ordinary intelligence of women in marriage and love is exposed completely. havisham is abandoned on her wedding day, but she keeps the room like the day she got married, while on the other hand she tries every means to revenge men. bearing these two conflictive thoughts in mind, havisham certainly fails to live her own life out of the control or influence from male though she se

the discipline for women is my third point. a feminist de bufuwa says, ‘one is called woman because she is “made” not “born”’。 culturally woman is the product of society and the result of its strict restrictions. those women who do not obey the disciplines are not regarded as gracious or good women by social criteria, which emphasizes on families, the responsibilities for their husbands and their dependence on men. in great expectations, estella and havisham’s misfortunes are closely attached to love and marriage. they try to revenge men and but they cannot leave men. estella leaves pip but at last comes back to him, and havisham keeps thinking about her marriage day and her the other part, who should come that day, in that gloomy room though she on the other hand revenges men. so tracing the track of a decent woman is the priority for women, as revealed in dickens’ novel, otherwise tribulation falls.

every period has an outstanding feature, which make descendants linger in mind. victorian age passed long ago, but its typical rules for women still work to some extent. to learn this novel can help us in understanding better women’s efforts to stand up. society presses public to believe in notion that male play a dominant role. even a feminist will drop into that swirl as she sees more and thinks more. havisham can symbolize a feminist but what then? she needs a male accompany. her ending somewhat is tragic but estella harvests through a long time, but anyway she wins in depending man and leading a pleasant life.

the above is what i get from the novel in the textbook and to conclude my opinion in one sentence, i should say that women depend on men. that is not my opinion, but what i get. i have to mention that again since i myself am one part of that group and i am not willing to take a subordinate role in both family and society.
